For an easy trail walk or run, one of my favorite spots is the Batiquitos Lagoon in northern Encinitas. The three-mile out-and-back trail is unparalleled in visual beauty and delightful scents from its many plants and trees. You’ll smell everything from eucalyptus to fennel to blooming bushes, while viewing the ocean, mountains and moonrises.
